The Act For Early Years Report
In every country and most communities across the world, the opportunities offered to a new-born child are based on the luck of the draw, predetermined before birth and perpetuated by inequality and lack of services.
Eight years ago, world leaders set a target that every girl and boy should have access to quality early childhood development, care and pre-primary education so they are prepared for primary school by 2030.
Yet today more than half of the world’s children (350 million) don’t have access to the childcare they need. And about half of pre-primary aged children aren’t enrolled in any form of early education.
This report looks at why the early years matter and makes the case for investment and calls for a global movement to ensure every child has the best start in life.
